Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
It is necessary for the candidate to possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.

UPSC CAPF 2026 Selection Process
The selection process consists of four stages.
Stage 1: Written Examination
The written examination consists of two papers:
Paper I: General Ability & Intelligence (Objective Type)
Paper II: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension (Descriptive Type)
Only those candidates who qualify for Paper I will be eligible for Paper II to be evaluated.
Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The candidates who qualify for the written examination will be eligible for the PET round, consisting of:
100 meters race
800 meters race
Long jump
Shot put (for male candidates only)
Stage 3: Medical Examination
The candidates who qualify for the PET round will be subjected to a medical test to check if they possess good medical fitness.
Stage 4: Interview/Personality Test

Subjects included are general mental ability, current events, general science, Indian polity, history, geography, and economy.
Paper II

Salary of Assistant Commandant (CAPF)
Assistant Commandants are placed in Pay Level 10 as per the 7th Pay Commission.
Basic Pay: ₹56,100
Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
In addition to the basic pay, the officer will receive the following allowances:
